From waste materials to secondary raw materials
The current economic environment and ecological considerations demand innovative solutions from the foundry, iron and steel industries. Low-cost reprocessing and recycling of waste materials are becoming more and more important due to ever tougher statutory requirements for dumping of waste materials, and the continuous increase in the cost of waste disposal.
The technical concept of a briquetting plant for the utilization of filter
dust and sludge provides for the recycling of waste materials that, until now,
owing to their consistency, could not be channelled back into the cycle of melting
processes.
These materials include:
- blast furnace flue dust - filter sludge from wet cleaning plants
- mill scale - filter dust from sand regeneration and fettling shop plants
- coke breeze - filter dust from hall dust extraction plants
We offer innovative and all-in-one solutions for these materials. Through the use of suitable binding agents and appropriate additives, dust deposits are recycled into a new, easily handled charge material for the melting process. The advantage of this process can be found not only in the reduction of the iron contained in dust in the melting charge, but also in the transfer of non-usable substances to the by-product "slag" which, thanks to its characteristic, is ideal for use as a road construction material.
BRIQUETTING PROCESS MODEL

Advantages
Briquetting of Machining Shavings
We supply briquetting plants for continuous or intermitten operation, with which shavings from steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals can be pressed into solid briquettes and then reused as high-grade, secondary raw materials in the materials cycles of the steel and foundry industries.
Pressing forces of up to 5.000 kg/cm2 guarantee an adequate reduction in the amount of cooling lubricants.
